Your Songbird Pro is disposable.
Just like disposable contact lenses, it is
designed to be worn for a certain period
of time and then thrown away. In
particular, the tip and built-in battery are
designed to provide up to 600 hours or
120 days of better hearing, whichever
comes first. And when your Songbird Pro
runs out, you simply replace it with a
new one.
The number of days your Songbird Pro will
last depends primarily on how often you
use it:
The battery of each Songbird Pro hearing aid
dries out with exposure to air. This means
that if you wear your Songbird Pro
for less than 4 hours each day, the battery
will stop working before you reach 600
hours of use.
The lifespan of your Songbird Pro will also be
shortened by some other conditions
including:
Leaving the hearing aid on when not
in use
Long-term exposure to extremes in
temperature, very high or very low
humidity levels, or high altitudes
Long-term use in a noisy environment
Never use your Songbird Pro for more than
120 days, as the buildup of wax and other
debris,as well as wear and tear on the tip
may reduce the sound quality of your
hearing aid, or increase the incidence
of feedback.
When not in use, you should store your
hearing aid in the case provided at room
temperature.
