SONGBIRD DIGITAL NOW OFFERED AT VISION & HEARING CENTER IN ROANOKE, VIRGINIA WAL*MART

Roanoke, Va. (July 25, 2021) - Of the approximately 235,000 people across the Roanoke Valley, one in 10 experiences some form of hearing loss. Yet only one in five of those in need actually wear a hearing aid. This means approximately 19,000 people in the Roanoke Valley have hearing loss, but do not use a hearing aid. This may be because they think hearing aids are embarrassing and uncomfortable. Others find hearing aids to be too expensive or too difficult to maintain.

A New Partnership
Songbird Hearing, Inc. and National Vision, Inc., parent company of nearly 400 Vision Centers inside Wal*Mart stores nationwide, are teaming up to change this perception and to familiarize people with a concept that will change the hearing industry - disposable hearing aids.

On July 25, Songbird Hearing will begin offering disposable hearing aids at the new Vision and Hearing Center inside Wal*Mart located at 4807 Valley View Road in Roanoke. This is one of only two Vision Centers selected for this roll out, with the other in New Jersey on August 3.

"Known as one of the ten healthiest places to live, Roanoke is an ideal market to introduce this product through our retail outlets," said Reade Fahs, President and COO of National Vision, Inc. "We believe Roanoke residents will be open to trying a revolutionary new product that can dramatically improve their lifestyles."

Disposable Hearing Aids?
Songbird Digital Disposable Hearing Aids offer hearing aid users the same level of convenience and reliability that disposable contact lens wearers have experienced for years. There are some added benefits to Songbird Disposable Hearing Aids that users will not find with traditional hearing aids:
  • No large financial commitment - Disposable hearing aids cost just $79 per aid and last approximately 70 days. Traditional aids can cost up to $3,000.
  • No maintenance required - Because Songbird hearing aids are disposable, they never require battery replacement or maintenance. The unit is simply replaced when the battery depletes.
  • Technological improvements are easy to get - Since wearers replace their disposable hearing aid with a new one every 70 days, technological improvements are never more than 70 days away. The new hearing aid is always equipped with the latest technology.
  • More comfortable - Disposable hearing aids are created with comfort in mind. Softer, more pliable materials can be used on a hearing aid designed to last 70 days than on a traditional hearing aid designed to last several years.
  • A 2001 study by the University of Cambridge found Songbird Disposable Hearing Aids to work as well as or better than custom fit, programmable hearing aids.

The Vision and Hearing Center is a National Vision Eyecare Center. National Vision, Inc. operates nearly 400 Vision Centers conveniently located inside select Wal*Mart stores. Great selections at everyday low prices make the Vision Center the right choice for all your eyewear and hearing aid needs. To learn more about National Vision, please visit www.nationalvision.com.
